Bierglas, 2010, Tusche auf Papier, 32 x 23 cm.
I made a drawing of a beer glass. Inside the drawing I made a hole bycutting out a piece of paper just where the opening of the glass is.
A few weeks ago I was invited to an artist talk. I explained the drawing
and the paper cut-out. I said that there is a reason for the hole.
Marita Fraser, a colleague, made an artwork which is non-objective:
a square of black felt with a circle cut-out. When I saw it, I asked
myself if it is possible for me as well to make an artwork with a hole
and where it must be placed? – A glass in contrast to a drawing has
an opening on its own.
